League Focus
To provide an atmosphere where kids can work on improving their skills and self esteem. The focus is not on winning. No standings are kept in this league. These games should be considered scrimmages where kids are free to make mistakes and have fun. (Tournaments are where we go to focus on winning.) We believe that youth sports, when properly run at all levels, are a healthy, fun and positive aspect of a child’s life. Imparting lifelong values that are the behavioral foundation of our future leaders.
To this pursuit, we offer programs that will embody this philosophy.

our league is designed for medium skill level teams that fall in between recreational skill level and AAU high end select level. It is a great league to just work on your game in a low key pressure free fun environment for low end to medium skill level teams. To help foster this atmosphere we do not keep standings and will respectfully ask coaches or parents that want to yell and complain to please play elsewhere. This is a safe fun positive place for the kids to just have fun and enjoy all that sports should offer them. The high end highly competitive teams should be playing in tournaments or other AAU leagues designed to provide that highly competitive atmosphere. They do a good job serve those teams

Basic League Information
We have fall, winter, and spring leagues for teams in grades 4th through 12th. Leagues run from September to June. Every three months you decide if you want to play another three months or take a break. Games are double headers every other weekend. There are tournaments and pick up games available on your off weekends if you want more games. Games are played locally, some travel is required. Most of the teams are high school based teams. We wish to provide an atmosphere that kids can develop their skills free from the relentless pressure to win. Tournaments and college Ball can be about winning. We are all here to support our high school programs and the skill development of our kids. These teams are here to have fun and work on their game in a atmosphere free from pressure to win every game. This is a complain free zone for our kids to have fun and develop into all they can be . Let them and the referees make mistakes without judgment and condemnation from those sitting on the sidelines. We play girls high school rules at all grade levels. Sportsmanlike conduct is strictly enforced.

Victory over your opponent brings satisfaction. Victory over yourself brings joy.

League History
Some 23 years ago, I was running a recreational basketball league (S.C.G.) and I wanted my 4th grade daughter to play AAU but there wasn't a sanctioned league in our area. I wanted her to have the same opportunity to pursue her dreams that the boys had. At that time Alderwood Boys and Girls club did not have a girls basketball program. I took all of S.C.G. recreational teams, equipment, and money and donated all of it to Alderwood boys and girls club so they could have a girls basketball program. I then started AAU Washington Girls Basketball. My new league started with one team. We scrimmaged a lot.

I am proud to say that today there are more girls playing AAU basketball in Washington than boys.

Fall League (Sept. to Dec.) . Winter League (Jan. to March) teams. Spring League (Arpil to June)
